Year 12 Graduation 2023
The Bundaberg Christian College Class of 2023 have officially graduated and celebrated the end of their schooling with a whole school graduation ceremony held Friday 17 November.
Parents, carers, family members, special guests, board members and all BCC students and staff joined together to celebrate the achievements of our Year 12 students and to reflect on their journey of learning and growth at BCC.
The ceremony included speeches from the 2023 College captains, items performed by Prep classes and the Voiceworx choir, and the giving of graduation certificates. Graduating Year 12 students were then sent off with cheers, hugs and a whole school guard of honour.
During the ceremony BCC Principal Paul Thompson spoke of the cohort’s legacy for 2023, Compass-ion, and reflected on the initiatives led by Year 12 that aimed to bring about a greater awareness of our call to compassion, and to follow Jesus as the one true north.
“Year 12, you have invested your time, dedication, and effort to reach this moment,” Mr Thompson said.
“You've experienced the joy of laughter, faced challenges that tested your resilience, and recognized that success does not come from mere attendance but from your commitment and hard work. As you embark on this new phase of your life, my heartfelt wish is that you don't just become somebody, but you become somebody who makes a difference.
“I challenge you to be of service to others, to spread love and kindness, to inspire and influence positively, to work tirelessly towards your dreams, and to embody the qualities of empathy and compassion, just like we see in Christ, and in our verse of the year, Micah 6:8. Love, Mercy. Justice.”
To all our Year 12 graduates – we congratulate you and can’t wait to see how the next chapter of your life unfolds. May the Lord bless you in every way.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
