BCC Academy of Sport

There is overwhelming scientific evidence on the positive effects of sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. Participating in sport improves physical and mental health, provides opportunities to grow socially and improves communication and leadership skills.

In addition to our dynamic Health & Physical Education curriculum for all students in Prep to Year 12, the College’s sport program includes:

Junior School

  • Interhouse cross country, athletics and swimming carnivals.
  • Bundaberg District Primary School Sport (BDPSS) competitions in touch football, cricket, netball, ball sports, table tennis and soccer.

Middle and Senior School

  • Interhouse cross country, athletics and swimming carnivals.
  • Specialised coaching and training before carnivals.
  • Bundaberg District Secondary School Sport (BDSSS) competitions in touch football, netball, table tennis, volleyball and basketball.

BCC Academy of Sport

The BCC Academy of Sport is open to students in Year 4 and up and provides skill development and training in specific sports. Academy members have additional opportunities to compete in district, regional and state competitions.

In Junior School, the BCC Academy of Sport includes basketball, netball, touch football and cricket.

In Middle and Senior School, the BCC Academy of Sport includes basketball, netball and volleyball.
