Oh What a Formal Night!

Suits, Gowns, Shoes and Cars. This is just the beginning of what a great night the year 12 formal was this year.

Held at Brothers Sports Club Bundaberg on Thursday October 7th, it was back to what BCC Formals should be like with parents, staff and board members invited to join the year 12s for a formal dinner, followed by some dancing and plenty of memories being made.

Students arrived in style with a mixture of classic and prestige vehicles from a Model T Ford to an FJ Holden and even a Kenworth Prime Mover. Crowds who gathered oohed and ahhhed over the choice of vehicle which moved to WOWs and applause as the students exited the vehicles in their gowns and suits. Discussions ranged from choice of colour, material, shoes, makeup, partner and how grown up everyone looked.

Once arrivals were complete, there was time to mingle with parents and invited guests and opportunity to greet friends and extended family members who had come to witness the spectacle. Students were then moved inside and formally introduced before being escorted to their seats.

Parents and their students mingled as conversation flowed before dinner and speeches began. A handful of students who had been at BCC since Prep had the opportunity to reminisce and pay tribute to happenings, teachers and fellow students who had formed memories of their time at our College before joining their partners for some formal dancing. Parents were then given the opportunity to join their students on the dance floor for Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dances before the dance floor was opened to all to end the night on a high energy note.

The 2021 BCC Formal was an entertaining and successful night of celebration and new memories. A fitting festivity as year 12s wind down 13 years of formal schooling and prepare for tertiary education or the workforce in 2022.
