Meet our Prep Teachers

As a child growing up I would write many short stories and have always been an avid reader. It is my love of books that makes the teaching of reading and writing a joy. I always celebrate with my Preps as they learn to sound words out, read and compose their own stories. I graduated from Central Queensland University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. This is my eight year of teaching at Bundaberg Christian College. I have been married for four years to my husband, Matt, who is a farm manager at a sweet potato farm. My weekends are spent with my family, going to church, swimming at the beach and sitting on the couch with my cat and a good book.  I am very excited to be continuing the Jolly Phonics Program this year. The program helps children to become fluent readers through a fun and hands-on approach. I am also very passionate about our flexible learning space, enhanced by our new classroom furniture.

I love being a Prep Teacher at Bundaberg Christian College. I graduated from Central Queensland University and 2012 with a Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary) and began teaching in 2014. Prior to teaching, I spent five years working with children in State Care including a year as Case Manager for programs specialising in trauma and attachment. My wife, Holly, and I enjoy a relaxing lifestyle by the beach and are excited to be a part of the Bargara Presbyterian church plant where we lead the Youth Group. I also enjoy soccer and chess.
