← Year 7 Japanese
Recently our Year 7 Japanese students made name scrolls. They used a brush and ink to do the calligraphy for the katakana letters in their name. Craft materials were then used to make this into a scroll. Japanese people often display calligraphy of characters decoratively in the form of a scroll. Being skillful at calligraphy is highly valued in Japan. The students did a good job of making these and they enjoyed doing a 'hands-on' traditional activity.
