← Year 7 Goes Outdoors

Students set off on their first Middle Years outdoor experience on 13 February.  The destination, the Australian Adventure Park at Burrum Heads! The boys were the first to get into the “swing” of adventuring when they conquered the rigorous obstacle course and the flying fox.  Meanwhile, the girls packed their backpacks and set off for an adventure in the bush; laser skirmish and camping out overnight in tents.

The BCC war cry rang out after each meal and as they transitioned between activities. It was rousing to hear! Another thing to be proud of after every meal, they washed up! Photo evidence to back up this statement has been provided!

Hot and humid conditions on the first day taught us a valuable lesson about how important it is to stay hydrated. Thankfully, the next day we were blessed to have some breeze and light rain showers to keep us cool, as the students swapped activities. Everyone was very tired on the last day, but they still managed to muster the energy to aim for a bull’s eye in archery and have a leisurely swim before lunch. One last war cry to say goodbye to Jimmy & Cathy and then we headed for home.  While many were keen to get back to home-sweet-home, they enjoyed sharing stories about the great time they had and the many memories they had created.

Many thanks to the staff on camp this year, Chappie Kelli, Mr Marsman, Miss Mammen, Mrs Vorster and Mrs Bronkhorst. It would not have been a success without your support.
