← Year 7 Camp
In March, our Year 7 students embarked on their first camp adventure in Middle School. This year, the camp was held later in the term during more pleasant weather conditions.
The girls were the first to pack their backpacks and set off for an adventure in the bush. In teams, they shared the load of the food, cooking and camping equipment that they needed for their overnight expedition.
Back at base, the boys were left behind to enjoy the waterslide, canoeing, team challenges and in the late afternoon, an interesting Agricultural Drone demonstration. During their optional activity time prior to dinner, a number of students took the opportunity to do some fishing. A few students had success, catching some bass. The day concluded with fellowship around an amazing campfire.
Before we knew it, it was day 2. Just before swap-over time, the boys were taken on a tour of the farm side of Bucca Retreat. They enjoyed experiencing a local agricultural operation first-hand; a property that includes free-range pasture-fed chickens and a Droughtmaster cattle stud. Students were also given an insight into the ecosystem of the lake at the heart of the property.
Overall, it was a rewarding experience. Thanks to the staff on camp this year, Chappy Kelli, Mr Marsman, Mr McCullough, Mrs Darby and Mrs Haritos. It would not have been a success without your support. Mrs Angela Gees - MY Year Level Coordinator
