BCC Students shine at World Scholars Cup

20 proud BCC students between Years 8-12, competed for the first time at the regional round of the World Scholars Cup on the Gold Coast. 
Held across 70 countries with over 50,000 students involved.

The 20 BCC students in the Gateway program were joined by over 200 of Queensland’s brightest young minds, who all participated in team and individual events which included debating, writing tasks, and creative expression across a number of subjects. Students excelled in all sections of competition, with placings of silver or gold in most sections.

Results included:

  • Junior Champion Scholars – Silver and Gold medals
  • Senior Champion Scholars – Silver medal
  • History Subject award – Gold Medal
  • Science and Technology Subject Award – Junior Gold
  • Individual Debate:
    -  Junior Silver
    -  Junior Gold
    -  2x Senior Silver
  • Senior Gold Team Debate
    -  3x  Junior Silver
    -  3x Senior Silver
  • First Place Junior Champion Team and Gold Qualifiers

Year 11 BCC student Tamae Marschke placed third in debating, ninth for creative writing and was awarded a champion scholar and top scholar medal.
