← Murgon Show
In early March, our Hoof 'n' Hook team set off for Murgon for our first (and to date, only) show of the year. Murgon is about 3 hours drive from Bundaberg and we were pleased to have some familiar faces, past student Ella Sterling and her mother Megan, join us as part of the team. Our team of cattle was reduced due to the rainy and wet conditions of the previous month; also reducing the amount of preparation our students had in practicing their skill of leading and judging. Abigail Marsman was awarded a ribbon for handling (3rd place); participating against very strong competition, she performed extremely well. Matt Kelly also performed well but didn’t gain a place in handling. The following day, Saturday, saw our students leading the Oakwood Limousin team in the European section, and then in the Interbreed section. The cattle were prepared and shown very well and received great compliments by the judge. While the show was running, news filtered through that most of the shows in Queensland were being cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions, which lent an eerie atmosphere to the event.
It was great to see the Sterlings again and have Ella and her mother share this time. Mr Bob Hibbard - Hoof 'n' Hook Coordinator
