← Important Announcement - Head of Middle and Senior School

Darren Hutton 1

Important Message to the BCC Community!

I am writing to inform you, our Bundaberg Christian College community, of a staffing change within the Middle and Senior School. Following eight years of service as the Head of Middle and Senior School, Mr Darren Hutton was recently appointed to the position of Principal at Calderwood Christian School in New South Wales beginning January 2020. As a result, Mr Hutton will finish his time at BCC at the end of this year.

Mr Hutton has made a significant contribution to College life and to the Middle and Senior School during his years of service.  His dedication to BCC has been evident through his commitment to establishing a standard of excellence in the various curricular and co-curricular programs from Year 7 - 12.  Mr Hutton has endeavoured to strengthen community amongst our students whilst fostering a secure and nurturing environment for students to be challenged and enriched.  He has provided a consistent Christ-like example within our community and has led with wisdom. We at BCC have been honoured to have him as a part of our staff team and know that he will be missed by staff and students alike.

The College will begin a recruitment process shortly in order to find a replacement for Mr Hutton. However, for our teachers, students and school community, life at BCC will continue as usual for the remainder of the year.  Mr Hutton and the Middle and Senior School staff are excited about the second half of 2019 and the many activities and programs that are underway.

The entire Hutton family have been wonderful contributors and supporters of the College. We wish Darren, Karyn, Tiani, Josie and Ezra God's richest blessings for the new season ahead and know many of you will be grateful for this time to express your appreciation. There will certainly be an opportunity to acknowledge Mr Hutton formally later this year. I will keep you, the community informed as we find a suitable replacement for the position of Head of Middle and Senior School.

Yours sincerely
Paul Sterling
