Strategic Planning @ BCC

We are moving full steam ahead with our strategic plan as we continue the journey of school improvement.

I am excited that our building plans for Semester 2 are gathering speed, where there will be a total of 4 building projects started over the coming months, with the aim for all projects to be completed before the beginning of school next year. Throw in the BCC Festival & Preptastic (information in the newsletter) and the normal routine of school, we are in for a logistical masterpiece!

As you are aware, our new look reports will be available for you this semester. We have been busy designing and creating these new school reports and are aiming to have them available for you on Tuesday 29 June. The College will confirm when they have been released for you to access via the Parent Portal. I would like to publicly thank the hours of work many staff have contributed to ensure the information you receive on your child’s learning progress is clear and easy to understand.

One of the beautiful aspects of this country is that we currently have religious freedoms. There is a current risk and concern for us as a religious school that this may change. As a parent or carer, one thing you can do is be informed. In the recent “Call to Prayer for Religious Freedoms” across the country, many were praying this very thing. For more information, see https://www.religiousfreedomweekend.com.au/

Should you want to take things further, be sure to write to our local member, Hon. Keith Pitt (https://keithpitt.com.au/ ) and share with him the importance of this matter for you.

Finally, I would like to share with you some of our strategic achievements so far this year.

  • New academic reports
  • Buildings (https://www.bcc.net.au/news/building-update)
  • Implementation of an instructional Teaching & Learning Framework
  • Improved communication on academic achievements (MS/SS) via Student Café and Parent Portal
  • Implementation of Project Based Learning (JS)
  • Development of a College Educational Data Plan
  • Targeted staff professional development
  • Increased connections with local businesses and the classroom

As you can see, we have been incredibly productive over the first half of this year. This is a credit to all our staff across the entire College. My thanks and appreciation go out to all our staff.

As we head into the winter break, may you and your family have a moment to relax and unwind from what has been a very busy and productive semester. It is my prayer that as you read your child’s report, that you are encouraged by the growth they have shown over the course of this year and the attitudes they have towards their learning. Remember, our motto is “Education with Wisdom” –  as we shape our students throughout their schooling years, may we see them learn, grow and understand the importance of experience, knowledge and good judgement. Proverbs 18:15 says, " An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."

Yours in Christian Education
