From the Chairman of the Board
As Chairman of the Bundaberg Christian College Board, I am writing to share important news regarding our much loved and respected Principal, Paul Sterling.
Over the weekend, Paul contacted myself and each Board Director to let us know that, after a period of deep consideration and reflection, he will be leaving our College from January 2020.
Whilst it is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you, we rejoice that Paul is following God's leading to his next place of calling.
Paul has been called by God to return to Brisbane - where his family and his wife's family all live - to serve as Principal at Genesis Christian College. He is a gifted leader, administrator and educator and we are thankful and grateful to God for the privilege of his influence, innovation, vision and excellence upon the BCC community over the past 6 years.
Paul will continue to lead the College until the end of the year, taking part in all key events. The College will also work with the community to plan a farewell event to thank Paul for his dedication to and leadership of our College.
Throughout the history of the College, the Board has asked for God’s leading and direction in all facets of its governance, and especially when calling Principals to this important executive role. In the same manner, the people He has brought to us have also recognised God’s calling along their professional journeys.
The Board will soon begin the process of calling for a Principal to lead our amazing College in 2020 and we will seek God’s direction, and guidance regarding this matter.
As a community, I would ask you all to pray as we begin the search for the person God is preparing to take up the call of Principal at Bundaberg Christian College and to lead us into the future.
As a College, we thank our Lord for His hand at work and know very well His grace, guidance and blessing over the past 23 years.
Updates will be provided as we navigate this period of change.
In recognition and celebration of Paul's visionary and valued contribution to our College, a tribute will be shared in the next College newsletter.
