← Cross Country Back on Campus for Middle and Senior School

On Friday 23rd April our Middle and Senior School Students took part in the Inter-house Cross Country and Tug of War events. Our Sports Coordinator for the Middle and Senior School, Toby Hibbard, wraps up the afternoon's events below.

Students were able to participate in either a Competitive or Participation run and some keen students (and staff) decided it was in their best interests to do both events. Kudos to them!

Competitive event winners were Elias D’Amico, Josie Gordon, Lara Hockey, Levi Marsman, Olivia Mason, Arran Black, Abigail Marsman, Angus Rehbein, Benjamin Cooper, Lily Mason, Amelia Muller, Sean Farrell, Charlotte Rehbein and Andrew Udal.

Once everyone was exhausted from running, Fonu demolished all comers in the Tug of War, winning the Year 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 rounds comfortably and setting a particularly high standard for both participation and effort. The Senior School students then foolishly decided to challenge the teachers to Tug of War – teachers like winning and this felt especially sweet (especially as the students were really good).

The overall results from Cross Country and Tug of War will be announced on the next Middle School/Senior School Assembly. Thanks to all who participated, cheered, helped set up and pack up and especially to those teachers who ran 4km or 6km just to help out (looking at you Mr Thompson).

A shout out also must go to our groundsmen, Rick McCullough and Troy Marschke who took apart fences and whippersnipped weeds to help get our course ready. It really was terrific to hold this event at school. Looking forward to next year!
