← BCC Students Selected for Wide Bay Cross Country Trials

Cross Country season this year has been especially busy with our teams proudly representing the college to the best of their abilities.

Recently a small team attended the Bundaberg District Primary School Sport Cross Country event held at Avoca State School.

Junior Sports Coordinator Rod Howard sums up the day below...

On Friday the 14 May, a team of 11  BCC Junior School students represented the college at Avoca State School. This was the first time that Avoca School has held the trials at their school!  It was a great venue with both the 2km and 3km courses resembling cross country courses of old! The students ran through creeks, forest and up hilly terrain!

Our team produced some great performances on the day with two of students selected into the Bundaberg School’s Cross Country team. Bethany Marsman placed 4th in the 11 years division with a great time of 14:14 for the 3km distance and Rylee Nimmo came 2nd in his 11 years 3km race with an exceptional time of 12:40.

Both Bethany and Rylee will now head to Gayndah for the Wide Bay trials.  Special mention must also go to Lachlan Kaplan and Lea Nieuwoudt who both finished in the top ten in their respective races.
