BCC Awarded Champion School
Bundaberg Christian College Hoof and Hook students have continued their success with final results from the recent Wide Bay Hoof and Hook Competition being released this week.
The Wide Bay Hoof and Hook competition was held in Bundaberg at the end of term 3 and hosted by Bundaberg Christian College and assisted by Isis District State High School. The competition attracted schools from across the Wide Bay Burnett from as far South as Noosa and as far West as Proston.
BCC students were awarded numerous ribbons throughout the event including Champion Junior Handler for Year 12 Student Avah Murdoch.
Carcass results for this year’s competition were released earlier this week with Proston’s “Chunkette” being graded as the best quality meat using the Gympie Carcass Classic Appraisal system, earning them the title of Champion Carcass overall with 119.25 points. Proston also received Champion on the Hoof.
Reserve Champion with 114.75 points was awarded to “Maple” from Monto State High School
However, BCC were not to be outdone with a first place in the Class 3 division with “Gogglebox” being awarded 104.5 points. In the Class 2 section, “Onyx” was awarded 4th place with 110.25 points.
OVERALL POINTS TALLY
Champion School from this year’s Wide Bay Hoof and Hook Competition has been awarded to Bundaberg Christian College with a calculation of overall points which included number of students, awards in judging and leading and of course the Carcass results.
In a close competition BCC ended up with a total of 2640, closely followed by Mundubbera on 2228 and Murgon on 1974.
