A bursary is a special category of award designed to ensure that a Bundaberg Christian College education remains accessible. A bursary is an award to a student who would derive great benefit from a BCC education but who, without financial assistance, would be otherwise unable to attend or participate in an approved BCC program.
Bursary Example 1 - $500 (Anonymous)
In recognition of a student’s consistent demonstration of good attitude, displaying a servant heart, Christian character and a commitment to the College. The award is for a student from a family facing financial hardship.
Bursary Example 2 - $550 (IncGST)
A student from a family facing financial hardship. For a student who has shown resilience and persistence in overcoming a personal challenge.
These special awards are presented at the relevant Junior School and Middle & Senior School Celebration Evenings. These events are the College's annual awards presentations, when the contributing businesses/organisations are formally recognised with the bursaries. The contributing representative is formally invited to present the award to the student.
If you are a Business Owner or Organisation Representative who would like to contribute to a College Bursary, please complete the form below.
In the description, please provide the "criteria" for which the award will apply. The previous examples should provide some guidance. For example: "In recognition of a student’s consistent demonstration of good attitude, displaying a servant heart, Christian character and a commitment to the College. The award is for a student from a family facing financial hardship."
If you wish to provide support for a student, please indicate which school (Junior, Middle and/or Senior). The College will exercise its right as the approved education provider, in determining the recipient of the bursary in accordance with approved assessment practices.
If you wish to be formally recognised and participate in the presentation of the associated 'special award', please also indicate in the description. Please note GST will apply in this instance.
Please indicate the amount of the contribution your organisation wishes to make as part of the bursary. For example: $500 (+GST if applicable).
