Bundaberg Christian College was born from a dream planted in the hearts of faithful believers back in 1987 — a dream to see children in Bundaberg taught in a Christ-centred environment and to build a thriving Christian school of 800+ students.
What followed was a journey marked by prayer, perseverance, and extraordinary faith. Doors opened, doors closed, and obstacles arose at every turn, yet our founders held fast to the conviction that “if this was the Lord’s school, He would bring it to fruition.”
From humble meetings in borrowed rooms and fundraising through homemade jam and bush dances, to courtrooms, construction sites, and the first small cohort of 39 students in 1996, the path God laid before the founding Board and community was nothing short of miraculous. Every step testified to the Lord’s faithfulness and to the unwavering commitment of men and women who believed that Bundaberg needed a College where Christ was at the centre.
As we celebrate 30 years of BCC, we stand in awe of how far God has brought us. We honour those who prayed, sacrificed, and laboured to build a strong foundation — one grounded not in human effort, but in trust, obedience, and the guiding hand of God. Their legacy continues in every classroom, every student, and every story is still being written at Bundaberg Christian College. We look forward to welcoming our college community to the campus on Wednesday 24 June to celebrate this milestone together and look back on our journey.
